The Coyote
Who

Welcome to the Coyote website. I'm Douglas Baldwin, the alpha male coyote of this territory. Here you can find out more about my creative work, including my music, writing, and guitar instruction. Use the menu in the upper right corner to navigate through the site.  Use the CONTACT page to get in touch. And scroll down just a bit more to check out my upcoming live performances.

Performance Schedule

My regular performing outlet was interrupted in April of 2011 by the apparent meltdown of my former performing partner. I've spent the subsequent time finishing a book/CD project for Hal Leonard Publishing, tentatively titled Practical Chord Theory for Guitar. My new performing focus is on playing live looping of the ambient/electronica persuasion. (One example of same can be heard on the little audio player at the bottom of these web pages - listen for "Solo Looped Guitar, March 29, 2005 (unreleased)" for a taste of a bit of some of kind of like what I was doing then that bears some resemblance to what I'm doing now, in a way.) As more gigs come up, I will post them here, calendar-style. In the meantime, please join my mailing list to stay in touch with upcoming events.

When that last band dissolved, I received this brilliant offer from my old pal and fellow Wisdom wizard, Jeff Wheeler:

Former RK DB:
I've been waiting for this opportunity to invite you to join my new yodel/funk fusion ensemble, "Lederhosen". We'll be performing a repertoire of original and cover soul/funk
tunes with an alpine slant. Located a great yodeller - platinum blonde who calls her(?)self Bruno. As an additional perk for band members, each will be given a customized hybrid 40mpg vehicle with amp/instrument room (see attached photo below). Think it over, RSVB preferably before Oktoberfest (our busiest month).

J. Wheeler

An example of Mr. Wheeler's own yodel/funk fusion can be heard on the audio player - it's the first piece you hear: Postmartal Postman, written by Jeff back around 1969. I added a couplet at the end and performed/recorded it around 2005, with the mighty and majestic Mikki Kirdahy suppling the massive violin ensemble.
